Hello!
At Pastways, young people’s social, emotional, and mental health is at the heart of everything we do. We understand that traditional educational settings don't always work for every student — and that’s where we come in.
We offer a safe, nurturing, and flexible learning environment for students who need additional support to thrive. Through a well-rounded curriculum, our learners work toward GCSEs, life skills, employability, and personal development — all at a pace and style that suits their individual needs.

We’re more than just an alternative educational provision network we are a bridge between young people, families, and education.
We recognise that every student is unique. We aim to empower each learner to overcome challenges and focus on personal growth in a secure and understanding environment. Our highly trained and compassionate staff listen actively to students and families, helping to raise aspirations, self-esteem, and confidence.
Whether a student joins us full-time or part-time, we provide personalised programmes that support them emotionally, socially, and academically — with the end goal of building independent, fulfilled, and productive lives.

We also support Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and use tools like the Boxall Profile to communicate more effectively with and about our students. Every learner receives a tailored action plan and individual attention to help them move forward confidently.

Journey Through the Years.
All students have the opportunity to complete AQA Unit Award Scheme certificates, ASDAN and many other qualifications, helping them build a portfolio of achievements.

Year 7-10
We work closely with schools, parents/carers, and students to provide a personalised, pupil-centred approach that supports each young person in their learning journey. By focusing on individual interests and strengths, we create a supportive environment where students can re-engage with education in a way that feels relevant and accessible.
Our team works collaboratively to identify and meet each student’s needs — including any that may not yet have been recognised — and to provide clear pathways forward. This may involve supporting reintegration into mainstream school or planning appropriate next steps based on the learner’s goals and circumstances.
Students take part in tailored lessons that are enjoyable, meaningful, and suited to their level of learning. Through project work and interest-led research, they begin to rebuild confidence, self-esteem, and a positive sense of identity.
We place a strong emphasis on social and emotional development, exploring any underlying challenges — including potential undiagnosed needs such as autism, ADHD, or other barriers to learning. Our aim is always to understand behaviour, support well-being, and equip each young person with the strategies they need to succeed.
Year 11 and Post-16.
Year 11 is a pivotal time in a young person’s education, and we provide focused support to help students approach their GCSEs with confidence. We work closely with each learner to identify their strengths and areas for development, offering tailored academic support alongside emotional guidance.
Our goal is to make exams feel manageable — not overwhelming. We provide a calm, structured environment where students can manage workload, stress, and expectations, while also building the confidence to succeed. Alongside GCSE preparation, we offer careers guidance and college application support, ensuring every student is equipped for their next steps.
We focus on life beyond school, helping them to prepare for after school and PASTways. We support young people in developing essential employability and life skills, while continuing to prioritise emotional well-being and personal growth.
Students have opportunities to work towards AQA Unit Awards and take on meaningful responsibilities and building on skills such as, leadership, self-confidence, and a sense of purpose.
We also support students with CV writing, job and college applications, interview preparation, and identifying realistic, motivating next steps for their futures.
We work in strong partnership with mainstream schools, SEND coordinators, and local authorities to support students who thrive through an alternative approach to education. Whether it’s a short-term intervention or a longer-term placement, our aim is to stabilise, support, and re-engage each learner — fostering meaningful progress that lasts.
Our provision is built on clear communication, structured collaboration, and a shared commitment to every student’s development. We offer detailed reporting, regular review meetings, and joint planning to ensure each placement is purposeful, effective, and fully aligned with the student’s EHCP or individual learning goals.
Together, we create a tailored pathway that empowers learners to move forward with confidence.
For Schools and Referrers
Working Together With Parents and Carers
We understand that parenting can be one of life’s most rewarding roles — but also one of the most challenging. At times, it can feel overwhelming, uncertain, or isolating. But you don’t have to face it alone.
At PASTways, we see families and carers not just as part of the process, but as essential partners in every step of a child’s journey. We’re here to walk alongside you — to listen without judgment, to offer support when things feel difficult, and to provide clear, compassionate guidance when you need it most.
Our dedicated team brings both professional experience and a deep understanding of the real-life struggles and hopes families/carers carry. Whether you're looking for advice, clarity on available services, or just someone to talk things through with — we’re here.

When you involve us in your child’s story, we can work together to build a path forward that nurtures growth, encourages confidence, and creates opportunities for a brighter, more empowered future — for both your child and your family.
You’re not alone. You’re part of the PASTways community — and we’re with you every step of the way.
Join us in building brighter futures — one step, one student, one success at a time.
Above all, PASTways is a community. Our environment is welcoming, calm, and inclusive — a place where young people feel safe to be themselves, build friendships, and learn without fear or judgment.
We believe that when students feel seen, heard, and supported, they flourish — emotionally, socially, and academically.
